What a key is
An SSH key is a pair of files: a private key that stays on your computer (never share it) and a public key you give to us. We never accept passwords for SSH — only keys — which stops password-guessing attacks.
1. Create the key (Windows PowerShell, Mac or Linux Terminal)
Press Enter to accept the default file; type a passphrase if you want an extra lock.
ssh-keygen -t ed25519 -C "[email protected]"2. Copy the public key
# Mac
pbcopy < ~/.ssh/id_ed25519.pub
# Windows PowerShell
Get-Content $env:USERPROFILE\.ssh\id_ed25519.pub | Set-Clipboard
# Linux
cat ~/.ssh/id_ed25519.pub3. Add it in the dashboard
Open SSH and SFTP, press Turn SSH on, then Add a key and paste. (No terminal? Use Generate and download instead: your browser saves a .pem private key — we keep no copy — and you use it with -i below.) The page shows your username and the server address.
4. Connect
ssh [email protected]
# with a downloaded key:
ssh -i ~/Downloads/your-key.pem [email protected]Make it shorter (optional)
Add this to ~/.ssh/config on your computer, then simply type ssh cloudninza:
Host cloudninza
HostName server1.cloudninza.com
User USERNAME
IdentityFile ~/.ssh/id_ed25519Copy files with SFTP
From the terminal, or with FileZilla (Settings → SFTP → Add key file, then host sftp://server1.cloudninza.com, port 22, your username):
sftp cloudninza
put site.zip web/yourdomain.com/public_html/
get web/yourdomain.com/app/.env.example
exitWhere you are after connecting
You land in your account's home folder inside a private sandbox: web/yourdomain.com/public_html for PHP and WordPress, web/yourdomain.com/app for Node.js, Python and Java. Nothing belonging to other customers is visible.
