Launch an app

Launch a PHP site or Laravel app

Plain PHP, Laravel, Symfony or CodeIgniter: upload, web root, Composer, .env.

  1. Upload
  2. Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter: set the web root
  3. Install dependencies
  4. Laravel: .env, key, database
  5. PHP version

1. Upload

Your site lives in ~/web/yourdomain.com/public_html. Upload a ZIP with the File manager and Extract it there, or clone with git in the terminal.

2. Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter: set the web root

These serve from the public folder. Open App settings, pick your framework (it fills in public) and Save changes.

3. Install dependencies

Press Run composer install in App settings, or in the terminal:

cd ~/web/yourdomain.com/public_html
composer install --no-dev --optimize-autoloader

4. Laravel: .env, key, database

cp .env.example .env
nano .env # APP_URL, DB_DATABASE, DB_USERNAME, DB_PASSWORD (DB_HOST=localhost)
php artisan key:generate
php artisan migrate --force
php artisan config:cache && php artisan route:cache

5. PHP version

Change it in Domains → PHP version (7.4 to 8.5). The terminal's php is the server default; for another version call it directly, e.g. php8.3 artisan migrate.
