Databases

Create and use a database (MariaDB/MySQL, PostgreSQL)

Create, connect, import, back up, repair.

  1. Create
  2. Connect from your app
  3. Import an existing database
  4. Backups and repair

Create

Databases → Create a new database: name, user and a strong password (Generate). Names get your account prefix, e.g. user_shop. Copy the password — it is not shown again.

Connect from your app

  • Host: localhost
  • Port: 3306 (MariaDB/MySQL) or 5432 (PostgreSQL)
  • Database and user: the full names shown in the list
  • Example: DATABASE_URL=mysql://user_shop:PASSWORD@localhost:3306/user_shop

Import an existing database

cd ~/tmp # upload dump.sql here first
mysql -u user_shop -p user_shop < dump.sql

Backups and repair

Backup downloads a .sql.gz of any database. Check / Repair / Optimize fix damaged tables. phpMyAdmin is available on WordPress and PHP plans.
