Data is stored in United States (US East), encrypted at rest. At 90% full we email you; above 110% new backups pause until you free space or move to a bigger size — your files stay safe and readable.
Questions about backup storage
What is Cloud Ninza Backup Storage?
Private, encrypted, S3-compatible storage for your backups, kept off your own servers. You get a bucket of your own and access keys that work only on it, and point any S3-compatible backup tool at it.
Which backup tools work with it?
Anything that supports S3-compatible storage: Synology Hyper Backup, QNAP Hybrid Backup Sync, Veeam, restic, rclone, Duplicati, and WordPress plugins such as UpdraftPlus, plus your own scripts.
Where is my data stored?
In our storage region in United States (US East), encrypted at rest. It is outside India, which suits off-site copies of your backups; ask us if your data must stay in India.
What happens when my storage is full?
We email you at 90% full. Above 110% new backups are paused until you delete old files or move to a bigger plan. Your files stay safe and can still be downloaded.
Are there download or request fees?
No. The price of your plan is all you pay, plus GST. Downloading your backups to restore them is included.
Can I control who has access?
Yes. Create up to 10 access keys, read and write for backup jobs or read-only for restores, and revoke any key instantly. Every change is emailed to you as a security alert.
How is it billed?
Yearly in advance by size, with the same multi-year discounts as hosting. Nothing is charged automatically: you get an invoice and pay it by UPI, card or netbanking. A GST invoice comes with every payment.
What if I do not renew?
Access is paused the day after the renewal date. Renew within 30 days and everything is as it was; after 30 days the storage and its files are deleted.
