Account verification (PAN in India, national ID elsewhere)

Why we verify

Like every cloud provider in India we confirm who each account belongs to. It protects you and other customers from fraud and gives you correct GST invoices.

Individuals

• Full name exactly as on your PAN card
• Your personal PAN (its 4th letter is P)
• Mobile number and address

Businesses

• Legal name exactly as on the business PAN
• Type of business — a sole proprietorship uses the owner's PAN; a company's PAN has C as 4th letter, a firm or LLP F, a trust T
• GSTIN if registered (we check it contains your PAN)
• Authorised person and designation
• One registration certificate's type and number — GSTIN, Udyam, CIN, LLPIN, firm, trust or society registration, or shop licence. No documents are uploaded

Customers outside India

Each country is asked for its own identity number instead of a PAN, and a passport always works. Your number is stored encrypted and only its last four characters are shown.

• USA: SSN or ITIN, or a driver's licence / state ID; businesses give their state registration number and EIN
• UK: National Insurance number or driving licence; businesses give their Companies House number and VAT number
• Canada: SIN or driver's licence; businesses their Business Number and GST/HST number
• Australia: TFN or driver's licence; businesses their ACN and ABN
• UAE: Emirates ID; businesses their trade licence number and TRN
• Singapore: NRIC or FIN; businesses their UEN
• Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Malaysia, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Ireland, Spain, Italy, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, Brazil, Mexico and New Zealand have their own national ID and business numbers too
• Any other country: passport number; businesses give their company registration number and, if they have one, their tax or VAT number

After you submit

You can buy and launch straight away. Our team checks the details, usually within one working day, and emails you. If something needs fixing we say what, and the dashboard shows a red bar until you update it. Your PAN is stored encrypted.
